The itinerary

Best time to go: November to March
The cool, dry cruising season on calmer rivers.
Travel to Khulna or Mongla, board the cruise boat and sail into the forest, stopping at Karamjal.
A forest walk to the beach at Katka, then small boats into the narrow canals to look for deer and birds.
Sail back out of the forest and travel home to Dhaka.
Not included: Travel from Dhaka by air, train or coach, booked on request; Meals not mentioned in the plan; Entry tickets and personal expenses.
Good to know
The Royal Bengal tiger lives here, but sightings are rare. Come for the forest, the river and the wildlife you will see.
Forest entry needs permission, which is arranged as part of a cruise.
Mosquito repellent, a hat and long sleeves make the forest walks far more comfortable.
Our Sundarbans trip runs 3 days and 2 nights, which covers river cruise in the mangroves. It is easy to add a night or two if you prefer a slower pace.
